GRADS: Reminder: Graduation is two weeks from today!!! Your grad fee and community service hours are due. Grad practice is June 16th. at 12:30.

Exam Sign Up Sheets - Students wishing to write their exams in room 104 are encouraged to sign up in order to do so ASAP...Space is limited and the sign up sheet will be taken down on Monday June 14th.

Students taking Grade 12 courses next year please see Ms.Whalen to review your 2010-2011 timetables at your convenience. Drop down to Student Services at a time when it does not interfere with review for exams. Ms. Whalen will also be available during the lunch hour and after school for reviews.

Attention all students. Please be advised that the OPP have informed us that a great amount of vandalism is occurring on the Fair Grounds during the lunch hour. Due to the location of St. Joseph’s High School the police and the Fair Grounds suspect that this vandalism may be caused by St. Joseph’s High School students. The Fair Grounds would like us to warn all of you that the Police will be increasing their presence on and near the grounds during the lunch hour. The Fair Grounds have asked the police to lay trespassing and vandalism charges against anyone caught on the grounds. Please do not cut through the grounds during the lunch hour.

Grade 8 Softball - There will be a meeting for all team members in Rm 321 today at the start of lunch. You can bring your lunch to this meeting. Practice for this evening will be cancelled.

St. Michael's is having their annual BBQ next week. If you need community service hours, the BBQ will be from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. Please contact Mr. Freemark at 649-2254

CHOIR PRACTICE We will have a choir practice at lunch hour TOMORROW in the music room to prepare for mass next week.

Any grade nine students who wish to prepare for the literacy test next year, any students who wish to recover missed credits or any senior students who wish to explore summer coop credits are advised that a summer school program is available either here or at Bishop Smith this July. Today there will be a meeting in room 202 at 12:00 for those students going on the Toronto trip with Mr. MacLeod on Monday. If you are planning on going on this trip you better be at this meeting. Attendance will be taken. The Jazz Band does not have to be at this meeting as they have been informed about the trip already.

Would all girls who are in grade 8 or 9 and are interested in playing junior girls basketball next september please come to a brief meeting in the town square after announcements.

Tickets for the celebration of achievement are being sold today in the tuck shop.

There will be a coaches meeting in the conference room at lunch today. Lunch is provided so be there at 11:45.

Room 104 will be unsupervised today so if you are hoping to send students, please ensure they are accompanied by an EA or other supervisor.

There will be golf practice Wednesday and Thursday after school at Dragonfly, on the driving range.

On Friday, twenty four grade 8 students represented St. Joseph’s at the Renfrew Elementary Track and Field Meet. There were many strong performances by our athletes. Wyatt Zohr finished 2^nd in both the 200m and high jump events, while Skylar Kluke finished 3^rd in the high jump. Molly Helferty finished 1^st in the 1600m race, Sammi Gauthier 2^nd in high jump. Alison Kasaboski 3^rd in the 100m race, and Saralyn Deslaurier 2^nd in the standing long, and 3^rd in the running long jump. Sonya Bergin claimed the Senior girls champion award, finishing 1^st in both the standing long and running long jump, and 2^nd in shot put. Great work everyone.

It is that time of year again when books need to be returned to the library. Please return your books as soon as possible. A list will be posted on the library window at the end of the week. I would also like to say thank you to all students who purchased books through Scholastic. I was able to order several new novels for the library.

Once again the end of the year has come and it is time to reflect on all of the amazing achievements of the students of St. Joseph’s. The Celebration of Achievements will take place on June 8th this year and the tickets will be sold for $10 in the Tuck Shop. This includes dinner and live music as well as the recognition of exceptional performances of students. Parents and all St. Joe’s students, grades 8 - 12 are welcome. Let’s have another successful evening focusing on the talented students of St. Joe’s.

Would all coaches and supervisors who have recognition awards to be handed out please get them to Mr. Halk as soon as possible.

Grade 8 Softball practice will be after school on the field. If you are not present at the practice then you must see Mr. McMahon in room 321 today. Only team members who are at practice or who have talked to Mr. McMahon will be eligible to play next week.

There is a very important Jazz Band rehearsal today at 3:30. This will be the last rehearsal of the 2009-2010 school year. This reheasal will prepare the band for the Toronto Music trip on Monday and the Achievement Awards Ceremony on Tuesday evening. See you there.

Sarah MacLaren and Melissa Verch competed at the OFSAA East Regional Meet in Belleville on Thursday and Friday of last week. Sarah cleared 1.50m and had a strong end to her season. Melissa maintained her strong throwing and qualified in Midget Girls Javelin. She will represent St. Joe's at OFSAA in London this Friday. Congratulations Girls!

Volunteers are needed to help out with the St. Francis Xavier Parish Supper on June 13th. This is a great opportunity to earn community hours in a variety of different jobs. Please see Mrs. Neville or leave your name at the office.

Ottawa Valley Driving School is offering a Summer Course for Driver Education this July. Course begins Monday, July 19th. Students interested in taking Drivers Ed can leave their name on the signup sheet at the main office or call Ottawa Valley Driving School directly in order to ensure a spot in the next available course.

Sarah MacLaren finished sixth yesterday in Belleville at the East Regional Track and Field Meet.

Mr. Agnesi's morning classes will meet in the cafeteria today.

There will be a very important Jazz Band rehearsal today at 3:30. We will be going over the program for the gig this Thursday evening at the "Our Lady of Fatima Fun Fair".

Friday, the Jaguars track and field team competed at EOSSAA in Brockville. 11 athletes qualified and represented our school well at the meet. Sarah MacLaren qualified in Sr. girls high jump while Melissa Verch won the midget girls javelin event with a personnal best throw of 28.4 m (this is a school record by close to 10 m). Good luck to the girls at east regionals in Bellville this coming Thursday and Friday.

TO ALL THOSE WHO SIGNED UP FOR THE VARIETY SHOW- We will have auditions immediately after school today in the Blues Room. (rm 308) See Mr. Rowat for more info. Remember to get late taxis if needed.

Mrs. O'Brien's grade 11/12 afternoon phyed class be at the tennis courts at 12:20. Bring a towel if you have one.

Grade 8 Softball practice today after school. If you are unable to attend please let Mr. McMahon or Mr. McIntyre know today.

Any students who are interested in playing in a Tuesday night baseball league in Renfrew are to see Mr. McMahon at some point today. This league runs all summer and they require a few more players to make up an extra team.

Golf Tournament - all those interested in playing in the Renfrew County High School Golf Tournament are to meet with Mr. O'Connor in the Town Square immediately after announcements this morning. The tournament is open to both males and females...dates and fees will discussed at a later date.

There are a few of the full-colour souvenir musical program booklets remaining from Turn the Page, Goldilocks. If you wish to purchase one they will be available at the office until Friday, for a cost of $10.

Grade 8 Softball - Practice today after school. Please meet on on the field at 3:!5. If you are unable to attend please see Mr. McMahon or Mr. McIntyre. Team will be made next week for the tournament in June.

There will be a Co-op meeting for all those who signed up for Co-op next year, in the Townsquare at 2:45 p.m. today.

VARIETY SHOW - There is a possibility of having a variety show next Friday afternoon. If you have an act, sign up on the library window SOON. Number of acts will be very limited.

Room Change - Mr. Friske's period 4, grade 10, science class will meet in room 221 today.

The Junior Boys Soccer team travelled to Riverside Park yesterday for playoffs playing Mackenzie, and coming up short with a 2-1 loss. The boys put in a strong effort with a goal by Josh Naismith. Great season guys!! Please bring your jersey to Ms. Campbell or Mr. O'Connor ASAP.

The senior boys soccer team ended their season yesterday with a 2-0 loss to Madawaska Valley. They had a great season but came up a little short of their goal. Excellent work boys.

A reminder to all students participating in Relay for Life in Petawawa on June 4^th; your school permission forms are due to the office on Friday.

This is a reminder that Scholastic book orders will be placed on May 21st. This will be your last chance to stock up on summer reading materials. See Mrs. Hass if you have any questions.

There is a Jazz Band rehearsal today after school. Jazz Band members can pick up their Toronto Permission forms when they arrive at the rehearsal.

With determination and teamwork, the Senior Girls Soccer team came away with a much-needed 2-1 win against Opeongo yesterday. Sarah MacLaren put in a penalty kick and Kayla Pilon scored the winner. This win ensures a spot in the playoffs tomorrow in Pembroke. Great effort by all! The bus leaves at 6:30am. Be prepared and dress for the weather. GO JAGS GO!

Room Change - Mr. Friske's period 4 grade 10 science class is to meet in room 116 today.

Junior Girls lost to Opeongo, however, we are still in the Playoffs. Playoffs start tomorrow at Riverside Park. Junior girls please meet for a meeting after homeroom announcements in the Town Square.

The senior boys soccer team won their final game of the season yesterday against Opeongo. Scoring for the team was Ryan Cuthill and Josh Lamourie. The win puts us in a tie for third with RCI but because of our excellent goals against this season we finish ahead of our cross town rival going into the tournament tomorrow. The bus leaves at 6:30 for Riverside tomorrow.

Any grade 12's interested in helping Prom Fundraisers, please meet at the Prom table outside the Cafeteria at the beginning of lunch.

Mrs. O'Brien's afternoon grade 11/12 Phe class is to be at Ma-te-way at 12:30 today for tennis.

Yesterday we kicked off our student council election campaign. To put your name forward to stand for an elected position takes a great deal of courage. I would like to commend all those who have decided to run this year. I also want to take a moment to say how incredibly disappointed, upset and quite frankly angry that so many posters were ripped down and defaced yesterday. I was particularly disgusted to see insults written across some of the campaign posters. I believe it is important to note that the greatest defense that we have to intolerance is each other. At this time I would ask the larger St. Joseph’s School community to watch out for one another and create an environment where intolerance and cruelty simply have no place. It is my sincere hope that throughout the remainder of this campaign all of our brave candidates feel supported and encouraged to bring their ideas forward. They are trying to create a better St. Joseph’s high School and we need to do our part to help them.

Missing Poster - There is a poster missing from last week's Pro-Life display on the first floor. The poster was up next to the bathroom doors outside the cafeteria and has disappeared. If you happened to borrow this poster for some reason, please return it to Miss Milosek's office. The posters do not belong to the school and need to be returned to the Calabogie/Renfrew Pro-Life Association.

Congratulations to all the students and staff who were involved in the World Premier of Turn The Page, Goldilocks! The show was simply fabulous. Thank you all for your incredible hard work. We truly are blessed with incredible talent here at SJHS.

Nomination forms for next year's student council are available in Room 104 from Mrs. Hamel. Forms are due today so a reminder to all candidates that completed forms must be brought to Mrs. Hamel by the 3:00 deadline. Candidates should also be prepared to campaign next week.

The baby seems to be still hiding in yesterday's position. Keep your eye out on the second or third floors - that's your hint...it's not on the first floor!

Todayat 12:30 p.m. our Musical Theatre program will proudly present “Turn The Page, Goldilocks!” to the St. Joseph’s High School community. Remember to make a $2.00 donation to your Home room teacher.

We will shorten period 1 and period 2 by 5 minutes. Lunch will begin for all students at 11:30 and end at 12:15. A warning bell will ring at 12:15 and period 3 will begin at 12:20. I would ask period three teachers to take attendance and escort their class down to the gym and to please sit with your period 3 class.

Our Lady of Fatima School is looking for student volunteers for their fun fair on May 27th. This is a great way to gather community service hours. Please contact Ms. Armstrong at OLF for more information.

SJHS was well represented by the Senior Girls Soccer Team yesterday in Pembroke - both on and off the field. Final results were 0-0 tie against Jeanne Lajoie, 1-1 tie against General Panet (Hailey Verch scoring) and a hard-faught 1-0 loss to Bishop. With a short bench, all the girls put in a full day. Natalie Walters, Hailey Verch, Kerry Keyes and Madison Wren played nearly OR all of 150 minutes of soccer! Keeper Karla Belton was exceptional after having dental surgery only a week ago! We finish our season on Monday against Opeongo. Get some well-deserved rest this weekend ladies! GO JAGS GO!

All graduates please see Mr. Connors in regard to grad gown orders. Proper heights must be recorded in order to ensure you look your best.

Jazz Band students see Mr. MacLeod today to pick up a permission form for the June 7 Toronto Trip. Rehearsals will resume next week as usual.

The senior boys soccer team had an excellent showing yesterday in Pembroke winning their first 2 games and tying the third. Brandon Woertink and his defensemen posted 3 shutouts and goal scorers for the day were Chris Ivory and Kenny Cobus with 2 each, Ryan Cuthill, Josh Lamourie, and Manuel Sanchez adding a perfect strike. It was a great team effort for the day.

Mr. Searson will be holding a mandatory meeting for all students in the Year Book class, at the start of lunch in the Conference Room. All Year Book members must attend.

Mr. Valliquette's period 1 Exercise Science class should report to the library for class this morning.

YEARBOOK: Just a reminder, Mr. Agnesi will be staying late today to get pages done for the yearbook. All yearbook members please try to attend.

Pro-Life Week is this week at St. Joe's. Check out the table outside the cafeteria for information, as well as your chance to win a prize. Also, keep an eye out for a small plastic model of a baby, that is hiding somewhere in the school. Congratulations to Jon Legris and Brady Ring who found the baby yesterday, as well as to Rachel Vanderzwagg who correctly answered that in 2004, teenagers accounted for having 17% of all abortions in Canada. Please pick up your prize at the Pro-Life table.

Would all students participating in the March for Life today please meet in the Town Square right after homeroom.

Track and Field: Yesterday St. Joseph's Track and Field team competed at the county championships in Arnprior. Qualifing for EOSSAA next week in Brockville: Aidan solar, Breigh Whalen, Jeff Golden, Kaitlyn Kargus, Kassandra Mulvihill, Melissa Verch, Rosemary Waclawk, Ryan Moriarty, Sarah Ennett, Sarah MacLaren and Shannon Charboneau. This is the largest St. Joseph's contingent to ever qualify for EOSSAA track and field. Athletes are reminded to hand their singlets into Mr. Charkavi.

The Senior Girls Soccer team fell to Madawaska 2-0 yesterday after a solid first half. Thank you to Ashley Hume and Sarah Ennett for helping out. No practice today ladies. The bus leaves for Pembroke at 7am sharp tomorrow. Please dress for the weather.

The senior boys soccer team put forth an excellent effort last night defeating Madawaska 3-0. Brandon Woertink had the shut out with the help of a great defensive performance in front of him. Chris Ivory had 2 goals and Ryan Cuthill had the 3rd goal. It was a turn around game for us heading into the tournament on Thursday. The bus will leave for Pembroke at 7am tomorrow.

"Journey to the Father" - "Journey to the Father" is a Catholic Youth Conference that takes place from July 16-18, 2010. Trip to Europe
The trip to Europe has been changed slightly. Next year travellers will be going to Vienna, Salzburg(Austria), Munich, Heidleberg, Dachau (Germany), Lichenstein and Lucerne (Switzerland). If anyone is interested in the trip, there are still 9 spaces. Please see Ms. Whalen or Mrs. Vice.

St. Joseph's was well represented at the Options Competition in Pembroke on Wednesday. Matt Shields and Eddie Kubeseski placed at the top in the Pitstop Tire Changing competition. "Mad Matt" and "Eager Eddie" dominated with blazing speed and accuracy to finish in first place. Well done, lads!

In the Small Engines/Automotive Diagnostics competition, we had two competitors. Jesse Schultz and Skylar Reid competed against 13 other tech students. Jesse "Steady" Schultz, a grade 10 student, did extremely well by placing near the top against some grade 12 students. Skylar "Wrench" Reid blazed through the faults and took home an impressive second place.

Congratulations, fellas! Your school is very proud of your achievements!

We are very proud of the culinary teams that participated at Options. Matthew Tse and Chris Mahusky created a lot of interest and buzz with their work ethic and creations, and placed second. Brandon McLean and Quincy Wemmers placed third. Angela Walker and Danielle Onanski-Huot placed in the middle of 18 teams.

A reminder that we will have our future grade 9 students here for orientation this morning. Please provide them with a warm St. Joseph's High School Welcome.

The Senior Girls Soccer team played an excellent match against ADHS yesterday, coming away with a 1-1 tie. Caroline Holley scored the single and goalkeeper Karla Belton kept the score even. Great effort by all. Practice next week: Monday and Wednesday after school, Tuesday morning. GO JAGS GO!

The senior boys soccer team lost a close match to ADHS 1-0 last night. It was a solid effort but couldn't equalize with the wind at our backs in the second half. Practice next Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

The Senior Girls Soccer team played their opener against a very fast and well conditioned RCI team yesterday. Although unsuccessful, the girls were strong for two thirds of the match with a single from Natalie Walters. Keeper Karla Belton kept RCI to a 4-1 victory. A solid effort was made by all. Thanks to assistant coach Mr. McMahon and impromptu trainer Mrs. Ainsworth for their help. There will be practice next week Monday after school and Tuesday and Wednesday before school. If you are unable to attend any, please notify Mrs. Turcotte as soon as possible. GO JAGS GO!

The senior boys soccer team opened their season with a solid 0-0 draw against RCI yesterday. The boys controlled play for a large portion of the game but could not convert in the offensive end. It was a great start to the season, giving us a lot to build on for the upcoming ADHS game next week. Great effort guys, practice Monday morning.

Earth day - A huge thank you to Mr. Halk and the Environmental Action Committee for organizing a great Earth Day here at St. Joseph's High School. The best way we as a school community can thank them is to reficus our daily recyclig efforts. Please take the time to sort your garbage and recycling properly and remember it is paper recycling only in the classroom recycling boxes.

Report Card Release - Remember that classes will be shortened by ten minutes each this afternoon to facilitate a repirt card release exercises.

The Grade 9 Badminton team travelled to BSCHS yesterday. We had a great day, with many wins and close games. Our medal winner of the day was Brittannee Mahusky in the Single Girls Rec. Division. Excellent attitude and effort was shown by all St.Joe's athletes!

There will be pizza today in the Tuck Shop.

Today is the 93 anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. It is often considered to be not only Canada's greatest military achievement, but the birth of the modern Canadian nation. The cost of this victory, however, was high, with 10 602 casualties including 3598 dead.

In memory of these men, we have raised the Red Ensign, Canada's flag during the First World War, and lowered it to half mast.

Reminder to Senior Girls Soccer: There will be practice next week - Monday 3:30pm, Tuesday AND Wednesday 7:00am. Dress appropriately.

Scholarships for Graduates

There are presently 3 scholarships available in the Guidance office: 1) The Ottawa Valley Music Festival Awards for a student in a senior piano level and for a student pursuing full time studies in a Bachelor of Music programme next school year.

2) The Ontario Hostelry Institute is offering 8 scholarship college entrance awards to students entering the culinary, hotel, tourism, food and beverage, hospitality, resort or events programs in the fall.

3) Students entering the following fields next year at college or university may leave their names with Ms. Whalen for the Ontario Power Generation scholarship: Engineering, Science, Environment, Technology, Mathematics, Physics,or Business.

All of the above scholarships involve some paperwork.

Grade 8 Girls basketball practice tonight at 3:15 PM

Grade 8 boys basketball – Mr. Retty would like to thank the Dan Norton, Evan Naismith, Trevor Vooght, Teddy Wolfe, Justin Cruise, Jacob Ripmeister and Nolan Saumure for a very successful Gr. 8 boy’s basketball tournament. Showing good defense and smart passing, we were undefeated in our pool and went on to the tournament semifinals. With more smarts, we were ahead at the half against Cobden, but gave up a few fast break baskets, and that was the difference against the eventual winners. In the important third place battle, we again were ahead at the half, but struggled to get the ball over half court a few times, and that was the difference. The lads were well behaved guests, which is very important.

As well Chemistry students, Mr. Retty is available for help after school now!

Could all the gr. 8 bball men meet in the town square immediately following the announcements for a sum up rendezvous.

There will be a brief but very important DR Team meeting at the beginning of lunch today in Miss Milosek's office.

Grade 8 Girls basketball practice Tuesday at 3:15 PM

Last call to all grade 10 and 11 students to sign up for the Jaguar badminton team. Practice this Wednesday after school.

Grade 8 Basketball - Team #2 had a successful day at RCI on Friday. They competed tough in all 4 games while tying 2 of them. All players played well on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Team members were: Jesse Chapeski, Wyatt Zohr, Chase Campbell, Calum Chambers, Cody Leskie, Carson Eady and Jake Sammon. Mr. Retty and Mr. McMahon were proud of how you represented the school at the tournament.

Mrs. O'Brien's afternnoon class will be in room 202 today to write a volleyball test.

REACH FOR THE TOP Your Reach for the Top team took a step towards defending their County Championship yesterday. The team defeated both ADHS and Opeongo easily, but came up a short in a close game against Carleton Place.

Recycling program announcement – as we all know many students here at St. Joseph’s High School work extremely hard to ensure that we have a vibrant and productive recycling program. I would ask everyone to make an extra effort to ensure that they use all recycling containers appropriately. For example, all of the recycling bins in the classrooms and on the main and second floor are for paper only. It becomes very difficult and messy to try and recycle paper when other materials such as pop cans are in these bins, again paper only for the bins in the classrooms.

I would also like to remind everyone that food and drinks are not permitted on the second and third floor and in the classrooms. We have many students with anaphylaxis allergies and it is very important that we all ensure that food and drinks remain on the bottom floor.

Room change - Miss Milosek's Period 2 Religion class will be in the Music Room today and will be sure to keep it clean when we leave.

Classroom Change: Mr. Skelhorn's period 1 Grade 12 Religion Class will be in Room 116 today and Mr. Friske's period 1 math class will be out in the cottage again.

Senior Girls pizza lunch will be postponed until next Wednesday March 3nd due to the number of girls who will be away this Wednesday playing hockey.

Congratulations to the Grade 8 Girls basketball team for their spirited contest against the Central Centurians Friday at Central. After falling behind 26-12 at the half, the Jaquars came out blazing in the second, going on a 16-2 run before settling for a 34-30 result in favour of Central. Practices this week are scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, all at 3:15 PM.

There will be a Grade 8 Girls basketball practice Friday after school at 3:15 PM.

Students still owing Mr. MacLeod money from last semester must take care of this debt by the end of the week, which means tomorrow.

This is the last call for students in Mr. MacLeod's semester one grade Eleven and Twelve Workplace English Class to pick up their culminating activities from Mr. MacLeod by the end of this week or they will be recycled. See Mr. MacLeod.

Jazz band members are also remeinded, rehearsals have started and all members are expected to come to all rehearsals every Tuesday after school unless told otherwise. This week we were very short on members.

The Rosary will be prayed today in the Chapel at 12:00. All are welcome.

There will be a mandatory Girls Hockey meeting at 11:40 today in room 313. Practise tomorrow morning at 7am.

The Bantam Girls Volleyball treavelled to Pembroke yesterday where both teams played very well. Thank you to the girls for representing the school so well and a special thank you to Madison Popkie and Laura Hagerman for coaching the girls and helping them to ejoy their day.

Tomorrow we will celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass at St. Francis Xavier Parish. I would ask all students to go to their home room class with their winter jackets, gloves etc as we will walk over to the church immediately following morning announcements. All students are asked to sit with their home room class at the church as attendance will also be taken there.

There will be a Grade 8 Girls basketball practice Wednesday at 3:15 PM. As well, there will be a brief, yet very important team meeting this morning at 11:45 AM in Room 121. Door closes at 11:50 AM

All senior boys soccer players should meet in the town square today after announcements.

Bantam Girls Volleyball - Please bring your permission forms and $5.00 to Mrs. Hass today. There will be a practice at lunch today as well. The bus will leave tomorrow morning at 7:10 am.

The senior girls volleyball team finished their regular season play last night defeating Madawaska 3 games to 0. Everyone contributed to the win. We go to Bishop Smith next Tuesday for quarter final playoffs. Will Sarah MacLaren, Lauren Hagerman and Carly McNulty please see Mrs. O'Brien sometime today.

The junior girls volleyball team finished off their season last night with a good effort against Madawaska. Great season girls. Meeting at 11:45 in room 313 today. Bring your jerseys.

Reminder - report cards will be sent home with students on Friday afternoon. We will have an extended home room period to facilitate the distribution of report cards and to review teh credit summary page.

The junior boys basketball team had a great game on Tuesday to close out the season in Petawawa. Peter Vice and Scott Stephens led the attack with 8 points apiece. Every other player added offensive or defensive contributions to help out. Thanks for all the great effort throughout the season and stay tuned for a free pizza announcement some time in the near future.

Junior Girls volleyball played their best games of the season yesterday at St.Joe's. Taking Opeongo to 5 games and losing closely in the 5th game. In the afternoon, St.Joe's rebounded to beat both Jean LaJoie and Mackenzie! Great day girls!

Reminder -there will be a Bantam Girls Volleyball practice tonight from 3:30pm until 5:00 pm. There will also be a practice at lunch on Thursday.

The senior girls volleyball team won two matches against Opeongo and Jeanne Lajoie to clinch a playoff spot in next weeks playoffs. After a 4 hour layoff we came out flat against a very strong Mackenzie team but we will get a chance to play them again next week. A hugh thankyou to all the helpers who ran the tournament.

Several students borrowed the school laptop computer the week prior to exams. The power cord is now missing. If anyone knows where the power cord for the Acer computer could be, please let Mrs. Hass know. Thanks.

The Wednesday Blues Guys rehearsal is cancelled this week.

There will be a bake sale outside the cafeteria today at lunch. All proceeds will go to the Dominican Republic.

SJCHS Ski & Snowboard team: All team members from either race, please meet in Room 221 today at 12:00 for a team photo for the Yearbook. Also, the team competed in Calabogie on Friday and all racers gave their best. Our boys' ski team placed second overall. The silver medal team included Peter Vice, Aiden Solar, Justin Saumere and Tyrell Kearns. Congratulations boys - great job!

Justice Jar for Haiti - Congratulations St. Joe's. As a result of the Justice Jar Campaign and the Bake Sale for Haiti, we have raised a total of $942.16! Thank you to everyone for making this a success!

We received word from the DR Team on Friday - everyone arrived safe and sound in the Dominican Republic, and they are extremely excited to be there. We continue to keep them in our prayers this week.
